Achy, Sleepy & Tired

Posted on August 3, 2013 at 10:45 PM

I think the worst thing that I could be dealing with at the tender age of 39 is menopause. After I was diagnosed with NHL Cancer 2 years ago and taking chemo, my menstural cycle went away. I didn't know that this would put me in full blown menopause because my doctor's forgot to inform me of this. I thought I was literally going crazy until one day I called my mother and told her my symptoms, and she brought to my attention that I may be in menopause. I was so upset because the hot flashes, crazy mood swings, aches and pains where driving me up the wall! I was really thankful for my mama because it gave me a big sigh of relief. Then shortly thereafter, I went to my family doctor so she could draw up blood work to confirm it for sure. And of course, when the test results came back positive for menopause, my doctor brought in with it, a perscription called Escitalopram (Lexapro). At first, I was happy about it, because I knew it would help me get my emotions in check, but after researching the side effects of this mess, it wasn't long before I turned to a more natural alternative. I was amazed because my mama has been using a natural remedy for years and she is doing great. So now, I alternate between two products that are very inexpensive but  very effective! So I just love them both! My first choice, Remifemin and my second choice, Estroven. These products both have Black Cohash helps control the symptoms of menopause such as: headaches. hot flashes, mood changes, sleep problems, heart palpitations, night sweats and vaginal dryness. But lately, I've been in pain and very tired. I hate the fact that my body goes through the motions of having a menstural cycle during that usual time of the month, minus the yucky stuff, which I must admit that the minus is truly a plus ;-) However, I just don't like taking a nap in the middle of the day, and wake up still trying to shake the pain. I try not to take to many pain pills because that is unhealthy too. So many times I just take a good warm shower and use my Royalty Spa Collection Lavender-Vanilla Body Lotion; in which I make with my very own hands. In my bedroom,  I have a misting fountain in which I put several drops of lavender essential oil in the water to help me relax and temporarily take my mind off the pain. So today was just one of those days, but thanks be unto God I made it through. Just tired of being achy, sleepy and tired. Please pray for me....
