Why Should I Set Goals?

Posted on January 24, 2014 at 2:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Wonder why some people could not even achieve an inch of what they dream of becoming? Many seem to blame it on pure dreaming and lack of setting goals for achieving their dreams.

You must understand that goal-setting is a very significant part of success and positive accomplishments. For example, it's like scaling a 20 feet building and marking early on what feet you would like to reach at this specific period.

People who set goals literally cre...

Happy to be Nappy?

Since the day I started growing my hair back, I decided not to wear it locked. I wanted to try something different. I knew going back to locking my hair was something I am familiar with, so deep down inside, I just didn't want to go back to the familiar. My hair is natural, no relaxers, or any other chemicals in my hair. I don't even use regular shampoo because of the harsh ingredients in it. I use Dr. Bronners when I need that extra clean feeling, and then on a regular basis I...

Life is precious...

One valuable lesson I have learned is this: As I grow older life becomes more precious as the days go by, therefore, if you love someone, and things are not quite right in your relationship, you will try everything in your power to make it right. Christ was born so that we may have life, He died so that we can have it more abundantly. Hear me, make that phone call, send that email, go and visit that friend or special loved one. The treasure that you once shared is worth fightin...

Where did I lose it?

You know,

God has given me so many gifts, and I am so grateful. But sometimes it can be very difficult to reach out and help others have a better life. I have many ministries and several businesses, however, lately I found myself getting really discouraged by the lack of feedback I was getting from those I am connected to. I found myself slowing down, and then eventually I stopped. I started to wonder if I could even go on. Well, I realized that I wa...

Incomplete Projects

Posted on May 23, 2012 at 11:35 PM Comments comments (0)

Tonight, I was on Facebook and trying to work on a blanket that I started crocheting over a year ago. I got a little frustrated and posted on my page stating how long I've been working on it, and why was it taking me so long. And then after I joked about it, I really had to think about it. This is not the only project I've started and have not finished. All of which, except one, I don't have a legitimate reason why they are not completed. I could blame people or situations to m...

Today, I Blew It!

Today, I had to do run some major errands for my business. It seemed as if I was going from one location to another with no breaks. I became a little hungry, and for convenience I stopped by the gas station and purchased a Smith's beef hotdog with chili, ketchup, and mustard. And then I got a bag of sour cream and onion potato chips. So to make myself feel better, I purchased a bottle of water. NOW, I knew deep down inside that I shouldn't be eating this horrific meal. I don't even eat beef,...

Staying Focused Just Like Jesus

The "Passion of Christ" was a movie that shook the nation. It still amazes me how Mel Gibson was able to capture such a powerful time in history on camera. It was no question that the Holy Spirit moved upon this man to share the very essence of what the crucifixion really meant, and what it continues to stand for today. I personally, was only able to watch the entire movie once, because I just couldn't bare watching all that Jesus went through for a wretch like me. Today, I be...

I Escaped From Fear's Deadly Grip!

Posted on March 5, 2012 at 9:40 PM Comments comments (0)

When I first came to Erie, Pennsylvania in December of 2009, I had many uncertainties swimming around in my head. I was very fearful, and I could feel that something was going to go wrong. I knew I was headed in the right direction, but there were some things that I would encounter along the way. Many may call this instinct, but I call it the Holy Spirit. On my journey to a state I had never been to before, and to a city I had only researched by way of internet, God began to...

The Writer's Pen

Posted on March 4, 2012 at 1:00 AM Comments comments (0)

It has no life, no feelings, no emotions. It says nothing when tossed to the side, or left alone by itself. When you leave it will always remain there waiting for you to return; though it may be minutes, hours, days, and even weeks. It never complains about the atmosphere you keep it in - hot or cold - somehow it still adjusts to the climate, ready to be used when you see fit. It never reprimands you for not putting it to use, or does it give you praises when put to use. It's ...
