Why Should I Set Goals?

Posted on January 24, 2014 at 2:05 AM Comments comments (0)

Wonder why some people could not even achieve an inch of what they dream of becoming? Many seem to blame it on pure dreaming and lack of setting goals for achieving their dreams.

You must understand that goal-setting is a very significant part of success and positive accomplishments. For example, it's like scaling a 20 feet building and marking early on what feet you would like to reach at this specific period.

People who set goals literally cre...

Sip ice water.

It keeps your cells hydrated and helps you burn calories. Reason. Whenever you drink something cold, your body raises your metabolism to keep your body temperature from falling. That process burns calories--eight 16-ounce glasses of ice water will burn an extra 200 calories per day. Strategy. Start the day with eight to 16 ounce of ice water. Sip a 16-ounce glass every hour or two, keeping one next to you at work and at home. Overall, you should drink eight glasses a day. Finis...

Homemade Salad Dressing

Many people will surprised to know, especially those who have eaten my cooking, that when it comes down to it, I really hate to cook. I've never really liked it, but the joy I get from seeing my family happy at dinner time makes it so much easier for me to stand over a hot stove and put together a good 'ole southern meal. No one really actually took the time to teach me how to cook, I really don't know why. Many times my grandmother would shoo me out her kitchen when I became t...

Achy, Sleepy & Tired

I think the worst thing that I could be dealing with at the tender age of 39 is menopause. After I was diagnosed with NHL Cancer 2 years ago and taking chemo, my menstural cycle went away. I didn't know that this would put me in full blown menopause because my doctor's forgot to inform me of this. I thought I was literally going crazy until one day I called my mother and told her my symptoms, and she brought to my attention that I may be in menopause. I was so upset because the...

I Love Costume Jewelry!

Today my son and I walked to the mall today for two reasons: One to get exercise so I can lose weight, and two so I can go shop and find some beautiful costume jewelry! I don't know what it is about me and this fake jewelry (real talk), but I just love the fact I can get so many different pieces without breaking the bank. My favorites are earrings, bracelets, and long necklaces; I can shop for them all day. It's a great form of therapy for me, I can spend a whole hour in Charmi...

Happy to be Nappy?

Since the day I started growing my hair back, I decided not to wear it locked. I wanted to try something different. I knew going back to locking my hair was something I am familiar with, so deep down inside, I just didn't want to go back to the familiar. My hair is natural, no relaxers, or any other chemicals in my hair. I don't even use regular shampoo because of the harsh ingredients in it. I use Dr. Bronners when I need that extra clean feeling, and then on a regular basis I...

Life is precious...

One valuable lesson I have learned is this: As I grow older life becomes more precious as the days go by, therefore, if you love someone, and things are not quite right in your relationship, you will try everything in your power to make it right. Christ was born so that we may have life, He died so that we can have it more abundantly. Hear me, make that phone call, send that email, go and visit that friend or special loved one. The treasure that you once shared is worth fightin...
